Megève is experienced not as a resort but as a village, with its cobbled streets, restored farmhouses and a clientele that returns year after year. A luxury concierge in Megève must therefore preserve this intimacy while providing impeccable service, in winter as in summer, in chalets whose wood and stone call for constant attention.

Luxury concierge Megève: a heritage village, several addresses

The Megève market is best read area by area, and each one calls for different management. Mont d’Arbois, between the golf course and the slopes, is home to the large family chalets and an international clientele seeking discretion and space. Rochebrune, served by its cable car from the centre, combines chalets of character and apartments close to the pedestrian village, while Le Jaillet, on the Combloux side, offers quieter addresses, often geared towards families. Around them, Combloux and its view of Mont Blanc, Saint-Gervais and its thermal baths, Demi-Quartier or Praz-sur-Arly extend the offer with properties of varied profiles. The proximity of Geneva airport, Sallanches station and the Megève altiport makes short stays easy, including weekends, which sets Megève apart from more remote resorts. For an owner, this diversity means choosing a manager who truly knows the hamlet, the access and the clientele of the chalet.

Luxury chalet rental in Megève: a genuine summer season

Luxury chalet rental in Megève rests on two seasons, whereas many resorts only make use of one. Winter revolves around the festive season and the February holidays, with quieter weeks in January and March, appreciated by guests who prefer the slopes of the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area without the crowds. In summer, Megève comes to life a second time: the Mont d’Arbois golf course, hiking, cycling, gastronomy and village life attract families who often stay longer than in winter. This double calendar changes the economics of a chalet, but also its upkeep, since the house never truly rests outside the two off seasons. A good concierge adjusts pricing to each period, sets consistent minimum stays and schedules works for spring and autumn.

Chalet concierge in Megève: wood, snow and garden

A chalet concierge in Megève must master the upkeep of very different buildings, from the restored old farmhouse to the extensively glazed contemporary chalet. Old wood needs regular treatment, roofs and gutters need monitoring after every snowfall, and joinery needs checking before winter. Snow clearing for access, parking and terraces must be organised before each arrival, often at dawn, with a reliable, reachable contractor. In summer, the garden, outdoor pool, spa and terrace furniture take over. Our page on luxury chalet management describes this preventive maintenance in detail and the network of tradespeople it requires. The table below summarises the points an owner can discuss with their future concierge.

PeriodPoints to watch for a chalet in Megève
WinterSnow clearing for access, heating and boiler with on-call cover, ski room, linen renewed at every turnaround.
SpringServicing of the spa and sauna, roof inspection, wood treatment, full inventory and condition report.
SummerGarden and outdoor pool, terraces, longer family stays, golf and guide bookings.
AutumnChimney sweeping, joinery checks, preparing the chalet and equipment before the winter opening.
Good to know

Classification as a meublé de tourisme (furnished tourist accommodation), a voluntary process valid for five years and based on a framework of 133 criteria, entitles you under micro-BIC to a 50% allowance up to €83,600 of receipts for 2026 income, compared with 30% and €15,000 for an unclassified chalet (service-public.fr). For a chalet let in both winter and summer, the difference is rarely negligible.

Welcome

A luxury concierge in Megève for a loyal clientele

In Megève, a large share of guests return every season, sometimes to the same chalet, and expect to be recognised. The welcome is given in person, with a tour of the house, a bilingual welcome book and recommendations that reflect village life: restaurants, instructors, guides, treatments. Over successive stays, the personalised check-in gives way to an ongoing relationship that the concierge maintains on your behalf. This loyalty has a flip side: a badly handled incident or sloppy cleaning has lasting consequences, as guests talk to each other and compare. Discretion matters as much as responsiveness, particularly for well-known families who choose Megève for its serenity.

Regulations

Letting a chalet in Megève or Chamonix: rules that differ

The law of 19 November 2024 (known as the loi Le Meur, Le Meur law) requires registration at the mairie (town hall) everywhere and the display of a registration number, pending the national online service announced for the fourth quarter of 2026 (service-public.fr). Your résidence principale (main residence) may be let for 120 days a year, a cap the town may lower to 90 days. Chamonix has gone a step further: since 1 May 2025, an authorisation from the very first night has been required for a second home, valid for three years, renewable, personal and limited to one per owner, with no compensation but with a DPE (energy performance certificate) rated A to E (Chamonix regulation 2026). As of 17 October 2026, Megève, Combloux and Saint-Gervais have not adopted any local regime beyond this baseline: registration at the town hall, 120 days for a main residence, no changement d’usage (change of use) required for a second home. In Megève, the registration number does not yet apply and the taxe de séjour (tourist tax) has been levied on actual stays since the resolution of 1 September 2015 (Megève town hall). For any new change of use application, the DPE must be rated A to E, and from 1 January 2034 all furnished tourist lets other than main residences will have to reach A to D (ministry leaflet), a real issue for poorly insulated old farmhouses. In a co-owned residence, also read the rules, which may prohibit tourist letting.

Concierge in Chamonix and the Mont-Blanc area: widening the search

Finding a concierge in Chamonix follows different codes from Megève: a clientele of mountaineers, off-piste skiers and hikers, a very strong summer season, many apartments in the centre and chalets scattered from Argentière to Les Houches. The concierge there must know the requirements of the municipal authorisation and support the owner through renewal. Saint-Gervais, with its thermal baths and its tramway towards Mont Blanc, and Combloux, more residential, complete this territory. If you also own a property in Savoie, our page on the luxury concierge in Courchevel presents a market more focused on staffed chalets. The introduction is free and with no obligation: you describe your chalet, your expectations and your calendar, then we look for a concierge active in your area, without promising a presence in every valley. Services are then provided by the concierge you choose, according to its offer and the contract signed directly with it.

  • A team based in the Mont-Blanc area, reachable at night in the depths of winter.
  • Experience with old chalets and wood maintenance.
  • An organisation designed for two seasons, not for winter alone.
  • A clear mandate on commission, often stated excluding VAT, and additional costs.
  • The Hoguet law carte G (property management licence) if the concierge collects rent on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions about luxury concierge services in Megève

What rules apply to letting a chalet in Megève?

As of 17 October 2026, Megève has not adopted any local regime beyond the national baseline: registration via DéclaLoc, 120 days for a main residence, no change of use required for a second home. The registration number will arrive there with the national online service, announced for the fourth quarter of 2026. The PLU (local urban plan) mainly governs existing tourist accommodation, with no main residence easement.

Do the Chamonix rules apply in Megève?

No, the Chamonix regulation only applies to that town, where an authorisation is required from the very first night for a second home. Megève, Combloux and Saint-Gervais have so far adopted no comparable regulation and remain on the national baseline, a situation a locally based concierge keeps track of for you.

Is it worth letting my chalet in summer in Megève?

Megève has a genuine summer season, driven by golf, hiking and village life. Stays there are often longer and more family-oriented than in winter. A concierge can help you balance personal use and letting according to your dates.

How much does a luxury concierge in Megève cost?

Market surveys mention commissions of 25% to 40% in winter in the mountains, depending on the level of service (rate cards published by industry players, 2026, indicative range). Check the basis of calculation and additional costs. Each concierge sets its rates in its own contract.
